Pippa - Adopted
A friend sent me an Facebook post with the cutest little white puppy. She said this amazing woman had a rescue in Mexico where this puppy was.
The puppy was precious, but I fell in love with the Momma dog. “Cleo” had been found chained to a wall in an abandoned building with a litter of puppies. She was just a pup herself. A year old. So sad.
Amy took that sweet dog and her pups in and tended to their needs. Both medical and emotional needs. These dogs needed a lot!
Once she was ready and the pups weaned, she was flown to us and we picked Cleo up at the airport in the United States. She is the sweetest, smartest, little pip we have ever met.
We named her Pippa and have had the best time training, playing and walking with our sweet girl.
We could never have imagined getting a dog flown in from Mexico. But this whole process went so smoothly that we knew it was meant to be. And we could not be happier. '

Adopted - Jacko
'I adopted Jacko from Angelitos. He is a very faithful and protective companion to me, friendly with other dogs and cats that live in our house. The first time I saw him, we loved each other! He lives happily in our home, and is well behaved thanks to Amy's early training. I will always be grateful to you Amy, for taking care of him from before he was born until he reached my arms... May God always bless you for your great work for those who have no voice and need help!'

Adopted - Perla
'We spent a long time looking for a faithful friend and we when we visited Angelitos and met Perla, we knew we had found her. Even though she had come to Angelitos scared and neglected, they had worked with her for months and she had become a happy, strong dog. Perla had specific needs and Amy helped us create a perfect home for her at our ranch. Angelitos does beautiful work!'

Kim - Board President
Why I do it: I have encountered heart-breaking animal cruelty throughout my travels around the world, but always felt helpless to make a real difference beyond always having food available for stray dogs wherever I went. Then I moved to San Miguel and met Amy Gigi Alexander. She inspired me to not only chair the Board but also re-think what rescue in Mexico could look like when you combine passion and a truly Bad-Ass founder. Angelitos Sanctuario is going to change what animal welfare means in Mexico and save thousands of animals. How do you say no to that? Please join me!

Jack - Volunteer
'Being a live-in volunteer at the sanctuary was a life changing experience. Not only did I learn how to help rescued animals, I learned a lot about myself. The staff and what they do is incredible! Recommend!'

Adopted - Fendi
'I adopted my girl. Fendi, from Angelitos. It was love at first sight. She is the most lovely, sweet and intelligent dog ever. She was welcomed into our family immediately, and plays with our 5 little chihuahuas beautifully. She makes my life so much better. Thank you Amy for a marvelous gift.'

Adopted - Choco and Latte
'We were lucky enough to adopt two eight week old balls of fur from Amy's Angelitos on Christmas Day — and what a gift they’ve been! Choco and Latte are the best addition ever to our family … their constant, unconditional love has sustained us through difficult times and brightened even the best of days! Thanks to you, Amy, these two are happy, healthy and have never been apart!'

Erin - Volunteer
'My time at the sanctuary with the animals was an amazing experience that taught me so much about how to help animals recuperate from neglect and also what I'm capable of. Every one of their animals was happy and well cared for and I felt so fortunate to be able to contribute to that continued care. A life-changing experience.'

Adopted - Lola
'Lola...what a marvelous dog. We feel so fortunate to have her in our lives. We had two dogs already and decided to help a third from Angelitos. Lola was a puppy with an abused early life, resulting in her losing an eye. Her chances of being adopted in Mexico were slim, and Amy took her in anyway. We told Amy what we were looking for as far as size and personality, and she recommended Lola. When she arrived at the airport, it was love at first sight. She was easy to train, loves her two dog companions and is an absolute joy.'

Adopted - Stella Blue
'Stella Blue had a really rough start in life but the angels at Angelitos Sanctuario rescued her, nursed her back to health, and gave her love she'd never known.
I had recently decided to open my heart up to another dog, after losing mine, and when I saw this sweet face, it was love at first sight! Now she's a California girl, with all the toys, blankets, walks, snuggles, and love a dog could dream of.
Please support the incredible work that the amazing humans at Angelitos Sanctuario do!'

Adopted - Annie
Amy, thank you profoundly for putting Annie and I together! She was and is just what I need. I couldn’t have done better if I had made a wish list. Since I’m older, a young puppy was not an option. Bless you for finding and making healthy these animals who wound up in places they didn’t deserve to be.' -Sandi
